We have questions. We have years of experience. We have observations. But experience is not the same as evidence. Horse Presence exists partly to find out what is actually happening.

What are we trying to understand?

  • How does the presence of horses influence human experience?
  • What happens in the relationship between horse and human?
  • Can different forms of presence make different parts of experience more accessible to our awareness?
  • Can the value people find in horse presence sustain the places where horses live?

From experience to evidence

We don't want to turn personal experiences into scientific claims. We want to observe carefully, formulate questions, work with appropriate researchers, and test what can actually be tested.
